Description
Black and chrome wheels are usually polished and mildly acidified. Then first plated a layer of nickel, then a layer of copper, and finally chrome. The adhesion of the coatings to each other enhances the strength of the polished layer of the wheel. After these finishes are finished, there is no clear coating protection outside the chrome layer. Since there is no clear coating due to chrome plating, it must be carefully cleaned with soap and water and polished with a metal decontaminant polish.
The plating process of black and chrome wheels seems to be seen as the process of adding brittle material to the surface of the aluminum alloy wheel, which causes many chrome-plated wheels to crack under impact. This type of crack is easier to produce on 22-inch and 24-inch wheels. The larger the rim, the lower the ability to withstand shocks.

The chrome polish can only be used on chrome-plated wheels, but avoid the wheel paint surface and wipe it off immediately after polishing.
Do not drive through an automatic car wash machine that uses a silicon carbide tire cleaning brush, as this will damage the chrome-plated wheels.
It is forbidden to drive vehicles with chrome-plated wheels through automatic washing machines that use silicon carbide tires to clean the brushes. These cleaning brushes have a certain grinding effect and can damage the wheel surface.
